Q1)Why should I choose to study at the Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce, University of Jaffna?

The Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce, University of Jaffna has high academic standards and a professional career – focused approach to undergraduate and postgraduate programs for achieving its sound vision and mission. It provides various facilities to the students for carrying out their studies matching with international standards.

Most of the academics in the faculty have done their PhD in the national and international universities. More than 75% of our passed out students are working at executive office level in the national and international organizations. Further, we engage with the local, national, and international community and our staff and students work on projects and research with direct and immediate real world applications.

Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce is located 10th Cross Lane, Kalasalai Road,
Thirunelvely, Jaffna, Sri Lanka. Opening hours of the faculty office is from 8.00 am to 5.00 pm from Monday to Friday.

Q6) Can I follow the undergraduate degree courses as a part time?

All internal undergraduate students who are following BBA and BCOM degree should be enrolled as full-time students. Other degrees such as BBM and MBA can be registered as part time.

Q7) How do I get the information about programme structure and syllabus for subjects in each year?

Those information can be found in the student handbook of the faculty. Students can download a latest copy of the Faculty Handbook from the faculty website (use the following link)

Past students can get it at the dean’s office of the faculty which holds copies of previous Faculty Handbooks.

Q8) How can I choose specific specialization in third year for undergraduate study?

It can be chosen as student’s wishes by raking process. If more students are applied only to one specialization, students GPA for 1st year and 2nd year should be analyzed.
