The Centre for Entrepreneurship Development & Incubation, National Institute of Technology, Trichy, India is implementing a project on Business and Management Capacity Development for Rural Women Entrepreneurs of India and Sri Lanka. The year-long project is funded by The Asia Foundation. University of Jaffna and South Eastern University are the Sri Lankan Partners, along with Women Entrepreneurs’ Association of Tamil Nadu (WEAT) as the Network partner.
The proposed project aims to develop and sustain the business and management capacity of women entrepreneurs of Tamil Nadu, and to transfer the best practices to rural Tamil women entrepreneurs of Sri Lanka, located particularly in the northern and eastern provinces.
A one day awareness conference is organized on 20th November in University of Jaffna to disseminate the main objectives and implementation aspects of the project. The conference is to be attended by rural women Entrepreneurs, NGOs, faculty, researchers and other stakeholders involved in women development.
