Aim and Scope
The Journal of Business Studies (JBS) is a bi-annual, double-blind peer-reviewed scholarly journal dedicated to advancing knowledge in the broad domain of business and management. The journal serves as an interdisciplinary forum for the dissemination of high-quality, original research that contributes to the theoretical, empirical, and methodological development of the field. JBS welcomes rigorous contributions across a wide spectrum of topics within business and management, including but not limited to human resource management, organizational behavior, strategic management, operations and supply chain management, marketing, management information systems, business law, behavioral finance, entrepreneurship, commerce, and international trade. The journal also seeks to explore emerging paradigms and contemporary challenges in allied domains that intersect with business and management.
The journal encourages the submission of a diverse range of scholarly works, including theoretical articles, empirical studies employing quantitative, qualitative, or mixed-method approaches, and comprehensive literature reviews. JBS particularly values research that offers novel insights, integrates cross-disciplinary perspectives, and has the potential to inform both academic inquiry and managerial practice. JBS aspires to foster an inclusive intellectual space for both established and early-career scholars from around the world, promoting scholarly dialogue that bridges local relevance with global significance. By providing a platform for the exchange of innovative ideas and evidence-based practices, the journal aims to contribute meaningfully to the advancement of the discipline and the broader business ecosystem.
Empowering SDG-Focused Inquiry Across Business Disciplines
The Journal of Business Studies, with its multidisciplinary research profile, is uniquely positioned to support the achievement of the United Nations SDGs by fostering academic work that bridges theory and practice across diverse domains of business and management. For example, research in human resource management and organizational behavior contributes to SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth by promoting inclusive workplace practices and employee wellbeing. Studies in entrepreneurship and commerce align with SDG 1: No Poverty and SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities by examining inclusive business models and economic empowerment strategies. Furthermore, investigations in strategic management and international trade help advance SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, fostering resilient and sustainable business ecosystems, especially in emerging economies.
JBS also encourages research in areas such as operations and supply chain management, which directly contributes to SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production through studies on circular economy practices and sustainable logistics. Contributions in management information systems and business law support SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, by addressing issues of digital governance, cybersecurity, and regulatory compliance. Meanwhile, studies in behavioral finance and marketing intersect with SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being and SDG 13: Climate Action, through explorations of ethical consumerism, green marketing, and financial behaviors that promote sustainability. By welcoming cross-disciplinary and globally relevant research, JBS plays a vital role in advancing knowledge and practices that align with the multidimensional goals of sustainable development.
